Editor's Note
Three classics of Mexican cinema are gathered in this single collection. Each film boasts the talents of some of Mexico's leading male actors: Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, and Pedro Armendris. LA VIDA NO VALE NADA: This drama focuses on Pablo (Pedro Infante), a wandering laborer who has imprisoned himself in a hell of alcoholism. Cruz (Rosario Granados), a widow, reaches out to the troubled man, but even her compassion may not be enough to save him. UN GALLO EN CORRAL AJENA: In this Mexican classic, Jorge Negrete plays the role of a rich man who disguises himself as a poor vagabond to win the attention of a wealthy sculptress (Gloria Marin). EL BRUTO: A working-class tough is hired by the landlord to terrorize the tenants of a Mexico City apartment complex. He kills one of the tenants and then falls in love with the victim's daughter, only to discover that the vicious landlord is his natural father.
